Governance For Organisations
We are now taking bookings for the free day course on Governance for Organisations which will be held on Saturday 8th February, from 10am to 3.45pm at Truro College and will be taught by Steve Angove. Please see the details below:
Good Governance
Good governance is essential to the survival and growth of community and voluntary sector organisations. This is now more important than ever as demands for services increase, role of the sector expands; yet resources often prove more elusive. Leadership, management and governance must be strong enough to meet challenges, but retain values, innovation and strengths that have seen the sector assume leading roles in our communities.
BK Day Course, 8th Feb
The day course will provide an up-to-date look at what is now involved in running successful third sector Cornish organisations. Course coverage will be wide ranging but encourage participants to bring forward issues from their own experiences for examination and debate. It will be of particular interest to board and committee members.
Steve Angove
Steve Angove has been involved with running and advising many organisations in Cornwall and beyond. He has worked for the Cornwall Rural Community Council and as a director of a co-operative third sector consultancy operating across the South West. He has specialised in providing consultancy to the non profit sector for 15 years and in the course of this has considerable experience in delivery of governance skills training. He lives in Truro.
Topics to be covered will not be too structured and will depend on the requirements of those attending but are likely to include:
