Update from This is Cornwall:
"Work has started to raise Carwynnen quoit, a Stonehenge like structure that was built by early man, near Camborne.
The ancient scheduled monument, built 5,000 years ago, fell in the 1960s.
Volunteer diggers battled in the wind and rain alongside experts to expose the socket for the first stone, or orthostat, so that it could be placed in its original position at Cromlech Parc or Frying Pan Field.
During the operation on hallow’s eve, Sally Herriett demonstrated ancient technology, looking at prehistoric artifacts and the art of flint knapping; making tools using flint.
The Sustainable Trust’s £55,000 restoration project will resume in the spring, when a time capsule will be buried at the site, and hopefully completed by Midsummer’s Day."
