Details below of a new calendar - and new Cornish partnership:
Cornish Pirates Calendar 2014
"Cornish Pirates fans can see the team posing in a new calendar photographed at iconic mining sites across the county.
The Pirates have been captured at Mining World Heritage sites from Kit Hill in the Tamar Valley and Poldark Mine to the engine houses at the Heartlands in Pool and the cliff tops of St Agnes.
The players, who will be signing copies of the 2014 calendar, photographed by Toby Lowe, at Waterstones in Truro on Saturday (NOV 9) from 11am to 1pm. Only 1,000 copies will be printed with proceeds going towards the Cornish Pirates and the Cornish Mining World Heritage Site.
Simon Raynes, fitness coach for the Cornish Pirates, says: “For many of our fans, Cornwall and mining is part of their heritage so it was great for the boys to learn more about this and feel really connected with the different areas of the Site. They gained a real appreciation of the landscape and support the work of the Cornish Mining World Heritage Site with what they do to preserve it.
“The images are really powerful and the calendar will make the perfect Christmas present for fans of rugby as well as fans of Cornwall.”
The new calendar will be available in Waterstones in Truro as well as Cornish Pirates’ outlets including Whirlwind Sports and at the home games in Penzance."
