See the King Edward Mine Museum website
The award-winning King Edward Mine Museum re-opens for the summer on Thursday 1st May 2014.
Opened by the Camborne School of Mines in 1904 this is the oldest complete Cornish tin mill. Restored to working condition, the mill continues to demonstrate to visitors and schools how mined ore is treated to produce the finished tin concentrate. We are a valuable resource for education and heritage.
From a review on Trip Advisor; "If you want a real insight into Cornish Mining then you must visit. At King Edward Mine you will see and hear about the true mining past of Camborne and Redruth. The guides are very helpful and well informed. The site is full of history and has a real atmosphere. Most of the site is covered so would suit a rainy day, but if it's dry the views of the local area are stunning. "
