PAY TRIBUTE TO AN INSPIRATIONAL CORNISHMAN
On Wednesday, Treswithian Crematorium was packed with those people wishing to pay their last respects to a true son of Kernow, Tony Piper, affectionately known as 'Pipes'.
Tony was a Cornishman and proud to be so, he was a man of the people who worked tirelessly for his county promoting its history and heritage. As the Chairman of Celtic Congress he was instrumental in forging cultural links with other Celtic communities.
A champion of all things Cornish, Tony led from the front. He was passionately proud of his Cornish roots and did all within his power to protect its unique cultural identity. When Trelawney Alliance was formed Tony gave us an enormous amount of support and encouragement which continued until quite recently. When speaking in public about Cornish issues Tony gave me a invaluable piece of advice, he said 'Speak from the heart'. Simple but so true.
Trelawney Alliance have been privileged to have known and had the support of such a committed Cornishman. If you so wish please add your personal tributes, either on Facebook or our website, see links below.
