A busy month for Hevva.
Take a look at their website for lots of information about Cornish Dance
On 24th May we performed a ceili at a 'leaving do' for one of our dancers who, for reasons of work, is having to move out of Cornwall. Claire has been with us almost since the beginning, so we embarked on this with some mixed feelings. In the event it turned out to be a lovely afternoon, and we wish Claire and her family well in their new life up country.
St. Piran Trust concert
St. Piran Trust, the organisation committed to the protection and development of the historic sites around Perranporth associated with Cornwall's St. Piran, held a fund raising concert on 17th May. This was hosted by and featured Restormel Concert Band, with guest singers Jonathan Tucker and Rachel Carter. Hevva were invited to play some Cornish music at the event, and were very pleased to take part in what proved to be an enjoyable evening.

10th May was the date of Callington MayFest, and Hevva joined dance groups from Cornwall, Devon and Brittany for this colourful occasion. Following a parade through the town, the groups performed dance displays around the pubs and streets, finishing in the town hall at the end of the afternoon. Before leaving Hevva musicians enjoyed an impromptu session with musicians from the Breton dance group Danserien an Abériou - a perfect ending!
